Man United are in the market for new recruits this summer and former skipper Gary Neville believes just three signings would turn the Red Devils into title winners

Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville took part in a Twitter Q&A this week and was asked a number of questions about his beloved club.

When asked: "Where can Man United finish next season with the right signings?", Neville wasted no time in responding: "Varane, Kane and Sancho = title."

The trio have been on the Red Devils' radar for some time and it is likely United will sign one of the three players in this summer's transfer window.

Here we take a look at how Manchester United could line up with the new names in the starting XI and the likelihood they get the respective deals over the line.

First things first, the team: De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Varane, Shaw; Fred, Pogba, Fernandes; Sancho, Rashford, Kane.

Manchester United have been crying out for a new centre-back for some time and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been keeping his eye on a number of individuals.

Jules Kounde would be a sensational signing and is someone United are keen on.

But he could set the Red Devils back around £80million, meaning Raphael Varane is an excellent alternative.

The Real Madrid star has just one year left on his current contract in Spain, meaning he could be signed in a cut-price deal.

At 28, the defender boosts bags of experience and has a packed trophy cabinet.

His know-how in big games could be crucial for United as Solskjaer looks to go one better and win the Premier League title next season.

Kane is the second player named by Neville and a man who needs no introduction.

The Tottenham striker won this season's Premier League Golden Boot award and at 27 is at the peak of his career and hungry to win some silverware.

Kane would be a statement signing and one that would prick the ears of everyone at both Manchester City and Liverpool.

The good news for Man United is that Kane is looking to leave Tottenham.

The England international rocked the north London club last week when he announced he wants to join a team actively competing for trophies.

He doubled down in an interview with Neville in which he made it clear he 'never said he would stay at Tottenham forever'.

The bad news for United is that Kane could cost upwards of £120million as he has three years left on his Spurs contract and Daniel Levy doesn't want to sell.

But if the Red Devils can agree on a swap deal that would see either Jesse Lingard or Anthony Martial go the other way plus cash, the transfer may just happen.

And finally, Sancho.

The Dortmund forward looked certain to sign for Man United last summer before the Red Devils were priced out of a transfer for him.

Dortmund wanted £108million for their prized asset and when United failed to come up with the cash before a self-imposed deadline, BVB closed the door on them.

United remain linked with Sancho, who is now available for £75million.

This transfer wages on how serious United are in signing Sancho, as it appears both the player is ready to leave Germany and Dortmund are willing to sell.

Mason Greenwood has come on leaps and bounds this season and Solskjaer may no longer feel he needs to prioritise strengthening his attack.

What's more, if Kane and Varane - who is the real priority signing - joins then there simply won't be the money in the bank to snap up the Englishman.
