A new month will likely bring plenty of twists and turns off the field as clubs begin their scramble for new additions with all eyes currently on Jadon Sancho, Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku

We're into June and now with little over a week to go until the transfer window officially reopens again for a summer of expected frenzy in the market.

Deals are already being completed ahead of the new season, with Sergio Aguero the latest player to confirm his next move after sealing a switch to Barcelona.

His Man City teammate Eric Garcia looks set to join him at the Nou Camp, while Liverpool's Georginio Wijnaldum and Lyon's Memphis Depay could also bolster Barca's ranks.

Meanwhile, Man Utd are in hot pursuit of Jadon Sancho again, while the future of Harry Kane remains up in the air heading into Euro 2020.

Liverpool have already snapped up their first acquisition in Ibrahima Konate, while Arsenal and Chelsea also look in store for a busy couple of months.

McGinn staying at Aberdeen

Niall McGinn needed “no convincing” from boss Stephen Glass to sign a one-year contract extension with Aberdeen.

The 33-year-old Northern Ireland attacker is in his second spell at Pittodrie after re-joining from South Korean side Gwangju FC in December 2017.

McGinn had played for the Dons between 2012 and 2017, after signing from Celtic.

He told Aberdeen’s official website: “There was no convincing needed from the manager to make me stay another year."

Ancelotti set for Real return

Carlo Ancelotti is due to be announced as Zinedine Zidane's replacement at Real Madrid.

The Everton boss was in charge of the Spanish giants from 2013 to 2015.

It is thought the Toffees will be given a lot of compensation if the move goes ahead.

New deal for Vickers

Goalkeeper Josh Vickers has signed a new two-year deal at Rotherham.

The 25-year-old did not feature for the Millers this season due to the form of Viktor Johansson and loanee Jamal Blackman, but he was keen to stay at the club and push for a place.

Rotherham’s goalkeeping coach Andy Warrington said: “We know all about him and he knows how I work as a coach and he fits in really well with the group overall.

“He came here in difficult circumstances, having signed late, but he understood the situation and his commitment to the cause was absolutely first class, so I’m delighted to get it sorted.

“I’ve known Josh for a few years now, ability-wise, his shot-stopping is second to none and he’s very quick around his goal. Like I said, his ability speaks for itself.

Laporta promises more signings

Joan Laporta has promised more new arrivals at Barcelona after completing deals for Sergio Aguero and Eric Garcia.

The Blaugrana have been linked with Memphis Depay and Georginio Wijnldum among others, while the future of Lionel Messi could also be resolved in the coming weeks.

"We told Koeman we were trying to sign Kun Aguero, any coach would want to have him in their squad," Laporta said at a press conference.

"Kun's signing is important because he is an exceptional player, he plays in a position that is very important in any system and in ours too.

"We want him in a competitive team, we also want Leo [Messi] to stay and he knows that...he is the first of a series of signings you will see in the coming month."

Arsenal chase Onana

Arsenal are set to complete the signing of goalkeeper Andre Onana in the coming days, reports suggest.

The Ajax goalkeeper is still banned from all football activities until February 2022 after failing a drugs test in February.

Onana, 25, tested positive for Furosemide and was banned for a year, though Ajax appealed the decision after contesting that he accidentally took his wife's medication.

And that drugs ban could play a huge role in how much Arsenal have to pay for him, according to Dutch outlet NOS.

Should his ban be shortened or lifted, Arsenal will apparently have to pay up to £7.75million for his services.

However, if his ban is upheld, Arsenal will manage to sign him for just £1.7m.

Watford keen on Nketiah

Newly-promoted Watford are reportedly interested in signing Eddie Nketiah from Arsenal.

The England Under-21 striker has struggled for playing time at the Emirates and faces an uncertain future.

The Sun report Nketiah could be available but would command a considerable fee.

Arsenal end Raya interest

Arsenal have reportedly dropped their interest in goalkeeper David Raya following Brentford's promotion to the Premier League.

Raya was identified as a decent back-up option to Bernd Leno but it is thought his price tag will now be set at more than the £10million Arsenal were prepared to pay to land his services.

The 25-year-old had a clause in his contract that would allow him to move on for that amount if the Bees failed to reach the top flight, but that has now been wiped out, according to The Sun.

Madrid 'make contact' with Ancelotti

Real Madrid are reportedly considering a shock swoop for Carlo Ancelotti as they look for a new manager to replace Zinedine Zidane.

The Frenchman ended his second spell in charge at the Bernabeu last week after failing to win a trophy in the 2020-21 campaign.

And all talk is now turning to who his replacement will be, with the likes of Mauricio Pochettino, Raul and Antonio Conte among those to be linked with the vacancy.

But according to Spanish outlet Cadena SER Madrid have made contact with Everton boss Ancelotti over the last few days as they attempt to lure the Italian into a sensational return.

Aguero dismisses Chelsea link

Sergio Aguero has seemingly poured cold water on suggestions he was weighing up a move to Chelsea by insisting he only had eyes on the Nou Camp.

"I didn’t even hesitate. I didn’t want someone else to talk to me, just Barca," he said.

‘"(Pep) Guardiola, when we won the Premier League, he told me ‘You’re going to the best team in the world’.

"As a boy I said one day they will surely notice me and here I am."

Chelsea plot double Inter raid

Chelsea are targeting Inter Milan stars Achraf Hakimi and Lautaro Martinez but have had their interest in Romelu Lukaku shut down by the Italian club.

Many believed after Antonio Conte left his managerial role Lukaku would follow suit but new boss Simone Inzaghi is said to have told the Belgian international he is crucial to his plans next season.

The news, reported by ANSA and FCInter1908, isn't surprising, as the former Manchester United star was integral to Inter's Serie A win this season after scoring 24 goals in 36 league appearances.

While the Lukaku move doesn't look likely, Hakimi and Martinez are two players who could be on their way to Stamford Bridge next season.

Chelsea name price for Abraham

Chelsea are reportedly demanding £40million to sell Tammy Abraham this summer.

The 23-year-old striker is out of favour under Thomas Tuchel and looks set to leave Stamford Bridge in the coming months.

However, The Telegraph report that any interested parties, which includes Aston Villa, must stump up the cash or Chelsea will refuse to budge.

United face Kounde battle

Manchester United have stiff competition for Sevilla defender Jules Kounde from Barcelona.

The Catalan club have stpped up their interest in the 22-year-old Frenchman and are keen to land his signature ahead of United this summer.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona view Kounde as an ideal long-term replacement for Gerard Pique but could struggle to match United financially if they get into a bidding war.

Everton 'eye Pedro swoop'

Everton could reportedly make a move for former Chelsea and Barcelona winger Pedro.

The 33-year-old is currently plying his trade at Roma but could be set for a shock return to the Premier League.

However, CalcioMercato's report claims no official approach has been made as yet, with Everton's interest only as concrete as Carlo Ancelotti's admiration for the player.

Barca sign Garcia

Barcelona have completed the signing of Eric Garcia on a free transfer.

The Manchester City defender will join up with the Spanish club once his contract has expired at the end of this month.

Garcia returns to his place of birth where he started his youth career, with Barcelona announcing his signing on their Twitter account with the caption: "Home Sweet Home!"

Kane a target for Tuchel

While Tottenham's Harry Kane has been on Thomas Tuchel's radar in recent weeks, it is now been reported he is a firm target for the Chelsea manager.

The Telegraph reports that the Blues will spend £200m in the transfer window with a lot of that set aside for Kane.

Kane's departure from Spurs has not yet been confirmed but his lap of honour for fans earlier this month seemingly suggested he would leave.

Chelsea have competition in signing the star though as Manchester United and Manchester City are also interested.

Chelsea eye Sancho exchange

Sancho is believed to be United's top target this summer, but the Red Devils could end up losing out to Premier League rivals Chelsea.

The newly-crowned Champions of Europe, who Sancho supported as a child, are reportedly interested in making a move involving Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The Chelsea winger doesn't seem to have much of a future at Stamford Bridge, and it's said that Chelsea could be willing to part ways with him in order to sign Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.

Martinez up for sale

Inter Milan are willing to sell striker Lautaro Martinez this summer.

The Argentinian has made a name for himself in Serie A after arriving in 2018.

Martinez has scored 40 goals in all competitions in the previous two seasons and has emerged as one of Europe's most talented forwards at the age of 23.

Inter are looking to offload the attacker due to the club's financial troubles, according to a report by the Guardian.

Liverpool have been linked with a move for Martinez in the past and could now take advantage of the situation the Italian giants find themselves in.

Mendes makes transfer comment

Sporting Lisbon left-back Nuno Mendes has been linked with both United and City this summer, and now the defender has opened up on the speculation.

Mendes said “I’m only focused on Sporting, these things I leave with my agent“, Mendes told Portuguese television channel RTP3.

He then added: "“There are things that are true and false [about interest from European clubs], now I’m focused on Sporting and now on the European Championship.“
