Everton are on the lookout for a new manager after Carlo Ancelotti jumped at the chance to return to Real Madrid, while the transfer rumour mill is in full swing

Carlo Ancelotti's return to Real Madrid has been the biggest bit of managerial news so far this summer, with the Italian walking out on Everton on Tuesday after 18 months at the club.

Just who he ends up signing at the Santiago Bernabeu will be interesting to keep track of, while back in the Premier League the hunt for the Blues' new boss has already begun.

With the transfers also ramping up as Manchester City duo Sergio Aguero and Eric Garcia join Barcelona, and Liverpool bring in highly-rated defender Ibrahima Konate, the summer looks as though it is just getting into full swing.

Stay with us for all the latest.

Emerson Royal to link up with Barcelona

Barcelona have confirmed that they are bringing attacking right-back Emerson Royal back to the club after two-and-a-half seasons on loan at Real Betis.

Barca first signed Emerson from Brazilian club Atletico Mineiro in January 2019, but an agreement was reached at the time that allowed him to move to Betis.

He made 79 appearances in two-and-a-half years in Seville, helping the club to a top six finish this season.

Gary Lineker makes Harry Kane transfer prediction

Former Tottenham forward Gary Lineker thinks Harry Kane will move to either one of the Manchester clubs or Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

Kane seems determined to leave Spurs in search of trophies, and Lineker says he doesn't blame him.

"I think it is between Manchester City, Manchester United and maybe PSG.

"They have [Mauricio] Pochettino and he would win things, guaranteed. I think it is more likely that one of the Manchester clubs can afford him outside of Chelsea. I don't think he would go to Chelsea and do that to the Tottenham fans but who knows.

"I don't think even the Tottenham fans would begrudge him moving now. He has given the club everything for a long time. They've not won anything with him which is a shame and it is a tough time for Tottenham."

Arsenal wait on Andre Onana hearing

Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana is having his appeal against a one-year ban from football heard today.

The stopper has taken his drugs case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, and if he is successful then that could pave the way for a transfer to Arsenal.

The Gunners are known to be keen on a move for the Cameroon international, who could replace Bernd Leno as No.1.

Junior Firpo lined up for Premier League move

Barcelona left-back Junior Firpo is close to a move to England, according to Sport.

The Spanish-Dominican has played 41 times for Barca since his 2019 move from Real Betis, but he is very much considered to be behind Jordi Alba in the left-back pecking order.

West Ham and Southampton are both said to be interested.

PSG 'extremely confident' on Pochettino stay

Paris Saint-German are believed to be 'extremely confident' of keeping Mauricio Pochettino - and have been left baffled by reports that he could leave after just five months in charge to return to Tottenham.

Reports have emerged in the last week or so suggesting that Spurs have sensationally made the Argentinean their No.1 target for their next manager despite only sacking him as recently as November 2019.

Pochettino and Spurs chairman Daniel Levy are believed to still have a good relationship, and there is thought to be a desire from both parties to reunite.

Man City chief ready to send 'strong message' in transfer market

Manchester City chairman Khaldoon al-Mubarak says the club are ready to go big in the transfer market as they look to replace "a very important legend" in Sergio Aguero.

City have been linked with moves for both Harry Kane and Erling Haaland, as they seek to add more quality at the top end of the pitch.

Aguero left the club on a free transfer and has signed a two-year contract at Barcelona, and al-Mubarak has vowed that he will be replaced by a big name.

“One of the things I've learned over the years is, you need to constantly bring in talent into the team, refresh and particularly when you are at a high level and when you're on the top,.

“Having won the league, it is not the time to sit back and be content. That would be your biggest mistake.

“This is the time to send a strong message, that there's no contentment, that you're not satisfied with just winning the league.

“That's great, but you want to win it again and you are committed and you are bringing more talent that is going to compete, not for the squad, but for the starting XI.

“We lose a very important legend in Sergio Aguero. They are very hard shoes to fill, but I'm confident that we will find the right player to fill those shoes."

Man Utd in battle for Kounde

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are facing competition in signing Sevilla defender Jules Kounde from Spanish giants Barcelona.

Barca are said to be increasing their efforts to bag the star as they look to replace Gerard Pique, according to Mundo Deportivo.

However, if the deal comes down to a bidding war, United could come out trumps as Barca face financial trouble due to the pandemic.

Arsenal chase Onana

Arsenal are set to complete the signing of goalkeeper Andre Onana in the coming days, reports suggest.

The Ajax goalkeeper is still banned from all football activities until February 2022 after failing a drugs test in February.

Onana, 25, tested positive for Furosemide and was banned for a year, though Ajax appealed the decision after contesting that he accidentally took his wife's medication.

And that drugs ban could play a huge role in how much Arsenal have to pay for him, according to Dutch outlet NOS.

Should his ban be shortened or lifted, Arsenal will apparently have to pay up to £7.75million for his services.

However, if his ban is upheld, Arsenal will manage to sign him for just £1.7m.

Arsenal end Raya interest

Arsenal have reportedly dropped their interest in goalkeeper David Raya following Brentford's promotion to the Premier League.

Raya was identified as a decent back-up option to Bernd Leno but it is thought his price tag will now be set at more than the £10million Arsenal were prepared to pay to land his services.

The 25-year-old had a clause in his contract that would allow him to move on for that amount if the Bees failed to reach the top flight, but that has now been wiped out, according to The Sun.

Madrid 'make contact' with Ancelotti

Real Madrid are reportedly considering a shock swoop for Carlo Ancelotti as they look for a new manager to replace Zinedine Zidane.

The Frenchman ended his second spell in charge at the Bernabeu last week after failing to win a trophy in the 2020-21 campaign.

And all talk is now turning to who his replacement will be, with the likes of Mauricio Pochettino, Raul and Antonio Conte among those to be linked with the vacancy.

But according to Spanish outlet Cadena SER Madrid have made contact with Everton boss Ancelotti over the last few days as they attempt to lure the Italian into a sensational return.

Aguero dismisses Chelsea link

Sergio Aguero has seemingly poured cold water on suggestions he was weighing up a move to Chelsea by insisting he only had eyes on the Nou Camp.

"I didn’t even hesitate. I didn’t want someone else to talk to me, just Barca," he said.

‘"(Pep) Guardiola, when we won the Premier League, he told me ‘You’re going to the best team in the world’.

"As a boy I said one day they will surely notice me and here I am."

Chelsea plot double Inter raid

Chelsea are targeting Inter Milan stars Achraf Hakimi and Lautaro Martinez but have had their interest in Romelu Lukaku shut down by the Italian club.

Many believed after Antonio Conte left his managerial role Lukaku would follow suit but new boss Simone Inzaghi is said to have told the Belgian international he is crucial to his plans next season.

The news, reported by ANSA and FCInter1908, isn't surprising, as the former Manchester United star was integral to Inter's Serie A win this season after scoring 24 goals in 36 league appearances.

While the Lukaku move doesn't look likely, Hakimi and Martinez are two players who could be on their way to Stamford Bridge next season.

Chelsea name price for Abraham

Chelsea are reportedly demanding £40million to sell Tammy Abraham this summer.

The 23-year-old striker is out of favour under Thomas Tuchel and looks set to leave Stamford Bridge in the coming months.

However, The Telegraph report that any interested parties, which includes Aston Villa, must stump up the cash or Chelsea will refuse to budge.

United face Kounde battle

Manchester United have stiff competition for Sevilla defender Jules Kounde from Barcelona.

The Catalan club have stpped up their interest in the 22-year-old Frenchman and are keen to land his signature ahead of United this summer.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona view Kounde as an ideal long-term replacement for Gerard Pique but could struggle to match United financially if they get into a bidding war.

Everton 'eye Pedro swoop'

Everton could reportedly make a move for former Chelsea and Barcelona winger Pedro.

The 33-year-old is currently plying his trade at Roma but could be set for a shock return to the Premier League.

However, CalcioMercato's report claims no official approach has been made as yet, with Everton's interest only as concrete as Carlo Ancelotti's admiration for the player.

Barca sign Garcia

Barcelona have completed the signing of Eric Garcia on a free transfer.

The Manchester City defender will join up with the Spanish club once his contract has expired at the end of this month.

Garcia returns to his place of birth where he started his youth career, with Barcelona announcing his signing on their Twitter account with the caption: "Home Sweet Home!"

Kane a target for Tuchel

While Tottenham's Harry Kane has been on Thomas Tuchel's radar in recent weeks, it is now been reported he is a firm target for the Chelsea manager.

The Telegraph reports that the Blues will spend £200m in the transfer window with a lot of that set aside for Kane.

Kane's departure from Spurs has not yet been confirmed but his lap of honour for fans earlier this month seemingly suggested he would leave.

Chelsea have competition in signing the star though as Manchester United and Manchester City are also interested.

Chelsea eye Sancho exchange

Sancho is believed to be United's top target this summer, but the Red Devils could end up losing out to Premier League rivals Chelsea.

The newly-crowned Champions of Europe, who Sancho supported as a child, are reportedly interested in making a move involving Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The Chelsea winger doesn't seem to have much of a future at Stamford Bridge, and it's said that Chelsea could be willing to part ways with him in order to sign Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.

Martinez up for sale

Inter Milan are willing to sell striker Lautaro Martinez this summer.

The Argentinian has made a name for himself in Serie A after arriving in 2018.

Martinez has scored 40 goals in all competitions in the previous two seasons and has emerged as one of Europe's most talented forwards at the age of 23.

Inter are looking to offload the attacker due to the club's financial troubles, according to a report by the Guardian.

Liverpool have been linked with a move for Martinez in the past and could now take advantage of the situation the Italian giants find themselves in.

Mendes makes transfer comment

Sporting Lisbon left-back Nuno Mendes has been linked with both United and City this summer, and now the defender has opened up on the speculation.

Mendes said “I’m only focused on Sporting, these things I leave with my agent“, Mendes told Portuguese television channel RTP3.

He then added: "“There are things that are true and false [about interest from European clubs], now I’m focused on Sporting and now on the European Championship.“
