Inter chief breaks silence on Alex Telles Manchester United transfer interest

Man Utd defender Alex Telles is being linked with a loan departure this summer and Inter Milan have revealed their stance

Inter Milan are 'refusing to exclude the possibility' of a summer move for Manchester United defender Alex Telles.

The Brazilian defender is being regularly linked with a potential loan exit in the weeks ahead despite insisting he is looking forward to his second season at Old Trafford.

Telles, 28, only signed from Porto on deadline day of the summer window last October but struggled for playing time in his debut campaign amid fierce competition from a revitalised Luke Shaw.

As a result Telles is being heavily linked with a loan exit this summer and Italian champions Inter are one such side to have been linked with a move.

Inter chief executive Giuseppe Marotta has broken his silence on the rumours, confirming interest in Arsenal full-back Hector Bellerin as well as Telles.

"Hector Bellerin is a player we're following... but I can't say more," he told Sky Sport Italia before being asked about Telles. "I can't exclude this possibility but we're making our plans and we'll see. We're now planning to keep our best players after selling Hakimi."

Telles only made 24 appearances for United during his debut season but speaking last week he insisted he would fight for his place at the club.

“I’m really happy to be back here,” Telles told United Daily. “It’s a pleasure to be at Manchester United coming into my second season.

“Last season, we came really close to winning trophies, so we go into this next season with a lot of desire and I really want to show my work and my value here at the club.

“I know Manchester United Football Club and the fans really believe in me.”
