Manchester United fans' favourite backs Eduardo Camavinga for summer transfer
Man Utd are keeping an eye on Eduardo Camavinga as they look to rejuvenate their midfield over the next few transfer windows.
Rafael da Silva has backed Eduardo Camavinga for a move to Manchester United in the summer transfer window.
Camavinga, 18, is one of the midfielders currently under consideration by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as he weighs up a possible move this summer.
The France international is out of contract at Rennes next summer and is reputedly available for €30million (£25.7m) in the current transfer window.
MEN Sport recently reported that Camavinga was an option for United due to their interest in the French market and the exciting youngster is a cheaper option than midfield alternatives.
However, it is important to note interest in Camavinga is being driven by his representatives at the Stellar Agency now he has under a year left on his Rennes deal.
That hasn't stopped former United defender Rafael from endorsing a move though with the Istanbul Basaksehir defender impressed with what he has seen from the teenager so far.
“He’s a very good player,” he told the TalkingDevils podcast. “In his first season he was amazing… just incredible at 17. Then, like me, like normally happens with younger guys, he dropped a little last season. But this is normal, it’s what comes with adapting to pressure.
"Camavinga is a very good midfielder and I’d love to see him at United.”
Declan Rice is United's preferred midfield target as he is Premier League proven and the 22-year-old has rejected the offer of a new West Ham contract.
Camavinga has been capped four times by France but missed out on a place in their European Championship squad. He was named in the France squad for this month's Olympics in Tokyo but was then omitted from the updated list.
