Kai Havertz, Chelsea’s Club World Cup hero, has given the Blues the lead in their Champions League last 16 match against Lille.
Havertz took the place of the suspended Romelu Lukaku at the heart of Chelsea’s attack following the Belgian’s poor performance in the 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace.
And Havertz justified his inclusion with a thunderous header into the ground that rebounded up and into the French Champions’ net.
Chelsea are the defending Champions of the trophy and will do all possible to protect it, despite the fact that history is set against such an accomplishment, with only Real Madrid’s remarkable three-peat in the contemporary period.
