Possibility of alternate target for Declan Rice for Manchester United
After Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa was fired, Manchester United may look to replace Declan Rice with Kalvin Phillips.
Phillips’ desire for Champions League football was reported by the Daily Mail last month, with Leeds unwilling to sell. Because West Ham are reportedly determined to keep midfielder Felipe Phillips after their dismissal of manager Marcelo Bielsa on Sunday, Manchester United may now be free to pursue Phillips instead of Rice, according to the Manchester Evening News.
When it comes to his connection with Bielsa, Phillips has been open and honest.
Thank you Marcelo for everything you have done for me.
You saw in me what I didn’t even see in myself. You helped me grow as a player but most importantly as a person.
Wishing you all the best in your next chapter.
Gracias Marcelo

Losing the manager who provided you with the opportunity to express yourself in the Premier League and who encouraged you to believe in yourself may provide Phillips with the drive to continue his career and seek a new challenge in the football industry. Phillips will not want to play in the Championship again, therefore a move away from Elland Road is highly likely if Leeds fail to maintain their status in the top flight.
