According to reports, Arsenal target Fabian Ruiz has decided that he does not want to join the Gunners.
Raffaele Auriemma (via Area Napoli) has stated that he believes Ruiz will leave Napoli at the end of the season, but that he has turned down an offer from Arsenal to do so.
As a passing midfielder who enjoys playing with the ball, Ruiz would have been a perfect fit for Arsenal’s style of play. Picking up the ball from defenders and controlling the tempo of the game are two of his favorite things to do on the field. Their combined attributes, when combined with those of Thomas Partey, would have resulted in a well-balanced pairing in terms of ball retention and play breaking.
Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are said to be interested in signing Ruiz. Chelsea and Manchester City are both top of their respective leagues, while Arsenal are vying for a place in the Champions League. By joining PSG or Real Madrid, he virtually ensures that he will be able to compete in the Champions League.
According to Football.London, Arsenal are looking to add a midfielder to their squad during the summer transfer window. Martin Odegaard has found himself in deeper midfield roles on a number of occasions this season, despite the fact that he is naturally a more advanced playmaker. It is expected that the signing of a player to play alongside Partey will allow Odegaard to play higher up the pitch, where he is more effective.
