Barcelona optimistic of beating  man City and Madrid to Erling Haaland transfer

It has been claimed that Barcelona are confident that they will be in a great position to complete the signing of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2018.

Having scored an incredible 80 goals in 79 appearances since joining Dortmund, the Norway international has established himself as a world-class goal-scorer in recent years.

It appears that Haaland could play for virtually any club in the world, but Sport believe that he has been drawn to the Nou Camp by the project under Xavi, who has done an amazing job in rebuilding this youthful group.

This is in contrast to recent reports from The Athletic, which said that Manchester City or Real Madrid were the frontrunners to sign Haaland in the summer transfer window.

With Pep Guardiola clearly in need of a world-class finisher like Haaland to replace the iconic Sergio Aguero, Haaland would be a dream signing for City and would help the club reach the next level of success.

Haaland might be the missing connection between City and Europe’s most prestigious club competition, given Guardiola has yet to win the Champions League with his current team, Barcelona.

Real Madrid, on the other hand, is a well-known club that would be difficult to turn down, but they are no longer the dominant force they once were, which makes it understandable why Haaland would want to join Barcelona.

Although there has been some speculation associating the Catalan giants with Haaland, Joan Laporta has played down the claims.

“I can’t say anything because his price will go up,” the Barcelona president stated in an interview with Barca TV, according to Goal.
There is a plan in the works to reinforce every one of our lines. We’re hard at work.
The economic decisions we make will be in the interest of sporting matters. Each and every player desires a move to Barcelona, but we will delegate responsibility to those who are well-versed in their fields.”
