Football in the Champions League is something both Manchester United and Chelsea are longing for.

Defending Premier League champions West Ham United’s Declan Rice has revealed that his ambition to win trophies and play in the Champions League is a pressing concern.

“It needs to be done as soon as feasible. Speaking to Standard Sport, Rice expressed his ambition to win trophies and play European football. “I believe that is a goal for every young player,” he said of his drive to succeed trophies and play European football.

“Playing in the Champions League is something I’ve always wanted to achieve, and hopefully one day I’ll be able to do so and do very well,” Rice continued. Of course, participating in the League Cup and winning trophies with his present club West Ham is a possibility; but, some of the clubs interested in signing the England international would make the transition a little simpler for him.

According to ESPN, both Chelsea and Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Rice. A cup final for Chelsea and a European Championship appearance for both clubs are recent accomplishments. Whilst participating in the Europa League, West Ham United are also out of the FA Cup and both domestic cup competitions.

Especially if the Hammers miss out on the Champions League, Rice’s future may be up for grabs this summer. As a kid, he was released by Chelsea’s academy, which is well known to the public. The 23-year-old is also a Chelsea supporter.

With Scott McTominay and Fred failing to live up to expectations this season, Manchester United are in serious need of a holding midfielder. In addition, Paul Pogba’s contract will expire in the summer, thus United will be without a lot of quality in Rice’s position when the season begins.

A long-term replacement for Ngolo Kante will be sought by the Premier League club. With Kante approaching his thirty-first birthday this month, Rice is an excellent candidate to take on the Frenchman’s responsibilities. He is capable of playing box-to-box as well as dictating play from deep in the field of play.
