In the summer transfer window, Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing two major players from Manchester United.
The arrival of two homegrown talents in the form of Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard at St James’ Park may not be the transfer news that most Manchester United fans would like to hear, but it is a possibility that they may be leaving Old Trafford for the first time this season.
However, club president Amanda Staveley insists that Lingard wanted to join them and that they attempted to sign him in January but were unsuccessful.
Due to the fact that Lingard will be out of contract by the summer, it will be easier for Newcastle to complete a deal for him in the summer. He will then be able to join another club on a free transfer.
In addition, allegations surfaced yesterday saying that Newcastle had previously approached Manchester United about signing Rashford, who is currently unattached to his current club.
The 24-year-old is pondering his future at Manchester United, and it is possible that he will be enticed by the opportunity to be a crucial part of the exciting new project now going at Newcastle.
