As a result of Everton’s 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Tottenham earlier this week, Jamie Carragher has leveled some shocking comments at Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek. Van de Beek was criticized for his dismal performance for the Toffees.
Everton loaned out Van de Beek in January after he was battling for playing time at Manchester United. He hasn’t exactly shone at Goodison Park, however.
Carragher’s scathing assessment of Van de Beek will not go down well with Red Devils fans, who believe the Sky Sports pundit singled him out as a weak link in Everton’s midfield during their humiliating defeat at Tottenham, which has left them flirting with relegation. Carragher was cited by the Metro as saying that Van de Beek was a weak link in Everton’s midfield during their humiliating defeat at Tottenham, which has left them yearning
He will have intended to utilize his time at Everton to demonstrate his abilities to Manchester United, but it appears that he is still failing at the top level of the Premier League.
In Carragher’s opinion, Van de Beek is unable to run, which is unquestionably one of the most important skills to have in order to compete in the physically demanding and fast-paced game of English football.
“This collection of players at this club is fundamentally depleted at the moment. In Carragher’s opinion, “the absence of athleticism in that Everton team is worrisome.”
In midfield, Allan can’t run, and Donny van de Beek has come in and can’t run either.
