Follow throughout the day for all the latest Man United transfer rumours and breaking news.

As players continue to prepare for this summer's European Championships, Friday was a busy day for Manchester United.

Firstly, United co-chairman Joel Glazer has promised to continue backing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the transfer market this summer.

Glazer spoke to supporters at a fans' forum meeting and also promised "significant" investment in facilities at Old Trafford as well as the club's training ground at Carrington.

Elsewhere, the club confirmed that Sergio Romero has left the club while talks over new deals remain ongoing with Juan Mata and Lee Grant.

Jacob Carney, Mark Helm, Iestyn Hughes, Joel Pereira, Arnau Puigmal, Max Taylor and Aliou Traore have all been released as well.

Meanwhile, United duo Bruno Fernandes and Luke shaw were named in the PFA Team of the Year after fantastic campaigns.

Finally, MEN Sport understands that Cristiano Ronaldo is not a target for the upcoming transfer window.

United 'confident' of landing Jadon Sancho this summer

United are increasingly confident of clinching a deal (finally) for Jadon Sancho this summer, according to reports.

The Athletic report that United are pressing ahead with attempts to sign Sancho, and negotiations have begun with the 21-year-old, who reportedly has an agreement to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer if their asking price is met.

Kieran Tripper 'has told' England teammates he is keen on United move

Kieran Trippier is of interest in the summer window.

What happens next after Joel Glazer meeting with United fans' forum

United hope to have a new fan advisory board in place for the start of next season, as well as details on how a new scheme to allow supporters to buy shares in the club will work.

Co-chairman Joel Glazer committed to both ventures during a meeting with fans on Friday, but club bosses will now continue talks with the Manchester United Supporters' Trust over how exactly the proposals will work.

OPINION: United have obvious reason against Harry Winks transfer

It's that time of year again when a new name seems to appear every day in relation to a possible Manchester United transfer.

There are the usual suspects of course with Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Harry Kane all players of high interest to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the summer window, while a whole host of other players come and go in relation to a move.

Solskjaer himself is always keen on stumping the press by sanctioning wildcard moves, last month even suggesting he'd like to sign players 'nobody has written about and thought we were not going to go to.'

While certain individuals remain more likely than others this summer, it is understandable why Solskjaer is eager to keep his options open in case any interesting opportunity should arise out of the blue.

The latest name to crop up is that of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks, with contact reportedly made over a possible £25million transfer in the summer window.

Atletico 'identify' Kieran Trippier replacement amid United interest

United are keen on signing Kieran Trippier from Atletico Madrid and their quest may have received a boost.

According to Marca, the Spanish side want to sign Hector Bellerin from Arsenal as his replacement.

Bellerin is likely to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer, having been linked with Paris Saint-Germain and Real Betis.

Wilfried Zaha next club odds after transfer request

Arsenal are currently the favourites to sign former United winger Wilfried Zaha this summer after he asked to leave Crystal Palace (again).

United in talks with Borussia Dortmund over Jadon Sancho transfer

United are in talks with Borussia Dortmund over signing Jadon Sancho, but any deal to sign the England winger isn't imminent.

The 21-year-old was the club's top target a year ago and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is again pressing for a deal to sign Sancho, who is seen as an ideal fit for the right-wing position.

But the Manchester Evening News understands a deal to sign Sancho isn't seen as being close, with Borussia Dortmund not publicly communicating an asking price for the winger.

Paul Pogba backs N'Golo Kante for Ballon d'Or

Paul Pogba would love to see France teammate N'Golo Kante win the Ballon d'Or this year.

“What I would like to say to the whole world is that the ‘NG’ we have seen in recent months has always been the same,” Pogba told Eurosport France’s FC Stream Team podcast.

“We talk a lot about his performances but he has always been as good as ever.

“There was no Cristiano and Messi in the semi-final, so it's good to see the performances of the midfielders or even the defenders.

“I said a long time ago that it would be appropriate, if Chelsea won, for him to win the Ballon d'Or. It would be deserved too."

Andreas Pereira linked with Lazio loan extension

Andreas Pereira's loan stint at Lazio didn't quite go as planned but a return to the Italian side may still be on the cards.

Corriere dello Sport suggests the door may be open for another loan in Rome, with Maurizio Sarri's imminent arrival potentially giving him a new chance to impress.

Lazio won't utilise the option they have for a permanent transfer but a temporary deal could work for all parties.

Solskjaer drops Pogba hint and confirms stance on striker signing

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has told Manchester United that they must keep hold of their best players, including Paul Pogba, if they are to challenge for major trophies.

Pogba's contract expires next summer, when he could leave on a free transfer, and that could tempt the club to cash in on the 28-year-old during this transfer window.

United 'make contact' over £25m Harry Winks transfer

This is an odd one.

United are prioritising the addition of a new centre-back this summer, while interest also lies in strengthening right wing and right back.

There is a clear need for a specialist defensive midfielder, but not many fans would name Harry Winks as that man.

Solskjaer promises Man United transfers this summer

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has promised Manchester United signings in the summer transfer window as he looks to 'strengthen' his squad in the coming months.

United are continuing to work on reinforcing their squad after Solskjaer attended a recruitment meeting last week following defeat to Villarreal in the Europa League final.

United's five 'most likely' transfers this summer

Don't take this as gospel, but rather a look at the bookmakers' odds on possible new arrivals.

Bizzarely none of them are central defenders despite centre-back being a priority position.

  2. Kieran Trippier (10-11)
  3. Harry Kane (5-2)
  4. Cristiano Ronaldo (3-1)

United release eight players and confirm contract talks with two senior players

United are in talks with Lee Grant and Juan Mata over new contracts, but Sergio Romero is one of eight players who have been released.

Grant and Mata are due to leave the club when their contracts expire at the end of this month but both have been offered fresh terms to extend their stay at Old Trafford.

United have also offered a new contract to 22-year-old goalkeeper Paul Woolston. Signed from Newcastle United in 2018, he made nine appearances for the Under-23s this season.

Another goalkeeper to leave the club is Joel Pereira, with the 24-year-old released having spent time on loan at Huddersfield this season, where he made only two Championship appearances.

Six members of academy squads have also been released, with Jacob Carney, Mark Helm, Iestyn Hughes, Arnau Puigmal, Max Taylor and Aliou Traore told their time at the club has come to an end.

Juan Mata is out of contract at the end of the season.

Kieran Trippier 'house hunting' in North West amid United interest

It's that time of the year again.

The Athletic also report on the future of Kieran Trippier and suggest a move to United this summer could take place.

The report states Trippier wants to return to the Premier League despite just winning La Liga and is already looking for houses in the North West.

Joel Glazer makes statement on Manchester United transfers and Old Trafford investment

Manchester United co-chairman Joel Glazer has promised to continue backing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the transfer market this summer.

Glazer spoke to supporters at a fans' forum meeting on Friday and also promised "significant" investment in facilities at Old Trafford as well as the club's training ground at Carrington.

The United co-chairman was making his first appearance on a fans' forum in the 16 years his family has owned the club, having vowed to improve communication in the wake of the European Super League (ESL) proposals.

Joel Glazer responded to an open letter from MUST.

Manchester United 'open talks over Jadon Sancho transfer' and more rumours

Manchester United have begun negotiations with Borussia Dortmund over the transfer of Jadon Sancho, according to reports.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is aiming to strengthen his squad enough to launch a sustained Premier League title challenge next season and a number of key positions are being targeted.

As well as a new right-back, centre-back and defensive midfielder, a first-team ready right-winger is high on the shopping list and Sancho is the top target.

Manchester United stance on Cristiano Ronaldo transfer amid return speculation

Cristiano Ronaldo is not a Manchester United target for the upcoming transfer window.

The MEN understands Ronaldo is a player Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admires — as a former United teammate of his — but that a return to Old Trafford for the 36-year-old is highly unlikely this summer.

United have already established their list of primary targets, which includes Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane, and would be extremely reluctant to turn to the veteran Juventus forward. He's not been a target for the club in recent years.
